Juniper Berries (2 oz. dried)
California juniper was a popular medicinal plant and food source for California Native Americans. The Mahuna, Kawaiisu, Kumeyaay, Cahuilla, Costanoan and Apache people all relied on the Juniper tree for multiple uses. Juniper berries have been known since ancient times as a remedy for urinary tract problems, gallstones, and gout. The berries have a strong diuretic, antiseptic and antispasmodic effect, and are useful for the treatment of urinary tract infections. Juniper is also a mild circulatory stimulant.
