3" dia x 4.5" tall

Ergil Vallo was born at Hopi in 1959. He has since married and become integrated into Acoma pueblo. Dalawepi means "colors of the rainbow". Dalawepi's signature work is highly polished blackware into which he carves or etches shapes. He then colors areas by grinding fine stones like azurite, malachite and turquoise, placing the resulting powder into the lines and cavities. For this reason his pottery cannot be washed, as the polish and firing preceeds the application of the colors stones.
